Imbrace Coupons There Just Like Money

Coupons are Buck Savers

Before I met the love of my life I had little knowledge of coupon usage and certainly didn’t use them myself. My wife thru experience learned the fine art of using coupons. At one time it was a necessity and then it just became a challenge with her. And the process she uses doesn’t consume a great deal of time. Sometimes in an effort to get out of the house and get diversity in my life; which helps promote thoughts and ideas for articles I write about. I lag along behind and observe her joy and pleasure in getting the best reduction she can get in purchasing items for ourselves and our connected family members. I remember on one such occasion while visiting Penny’s while shopping for Christmas items my wife observed a lightweight coat, which I dearly needed because my current one was ready for the bone pile. The coat in question was with other items that were marked half off. Then my wife had a half off store coupon. After all was said and done they almost gave us money for buying the jacket. Its original selling price was ninety-five dollars we paid a tad over twelve bucks. Is that a buy or what? And the jacket was cool.

Refrigerator for Half Price

Our underlings sometimes kid my wife about how affective she is in securing items at a reduced rate. But when they need something who do you think they make council with to get a good deal for themselves? I guess when its their nest egg being spend they don’t mind using her help and avoid kidding her about it when it works to their advantage. One of our offspring always boosted growing up that doing coupons would never be used by him. Recently with the help of a family member he got fifty percent off a new refrigerator because she purchased it for him as an employee of the company who get reduced rates and passed the benefit on to him. I think he’s starting to get the coupon saving idea and talking about using it more. What is it they say never say never? I think we all like a deal but don’t want to necessarily admit it. For me paying full price is stupid if you can do something and get a better deal.

Buy One, Get One Free

Coupon books like the ones like the girl, boy scouts and school organizations sell are very helpful in saving money on all kinds of things. Even thought your budget might be tight everyone needs and wants to enjoy an eating out once in awhile. These kinds of books offer deals like buy one get one free or some other combination that can give you something to eat there and then have something to take home for a midnight snack like I frequently do. You will discover that many people buy the coupon books but never use them. Some of our family members or friends know we use them and offer theirs to us. We gladly except his or her generosity and use or give it to someone that will use it. These kind of books are a great ways to try a new food locations or try some didn’t entree and then if you don’t like it your not out the full price. It’s a win win situation.

They Might Come in Handy Later

Coupons of items you use or might use are wise things to gather up and save. You never know when the situation may require there use and you save in the process.

A Thought That Counts

Remember the old saying? A penny saved is a penny earned. Yes the penny has changed in value but not the thought.

Doctors Need Money Help Too

We All Have Times Behind the Eight Ball

Recently while sitting and waiting to see my family doctor I joined in a conversation with a gentlemen many years younger then me. But according to him he wasn’t fairing as well with life as I was. According to him his current condition prompted numerous tests, which raised his pay obligation to his doctor and that has put him behind the eight ball.

I said been there and done that. But I got advise from another person and allow me to share that information with you. The entire medical system is if required ready to assist you in satisfying your debt to them. Many because they want to keep you as a customer and foremost because something is better then nothing. And also because they need the cash to pay their bills just like you do.

I Got a Half a Bill Deal

So here’s the advice given to me by my doctors people in charge of his billing system. And the results will surprise you. They way back when my situation was not unlike yours might be willing to write off half of my obligations to them, if I could arrange to pay off the other half in a reasonable period of time. I jumped on the opportunity and borrowed on an almost zero credit card offer and gave them half. Is that a deal or what?

Now I can’t predict what your results will be, but you can rest assured that you wont be paying the entire bill. Because a bird in the hand is better then two birds in the bush.

So discuss your situation with your doctor and there people and Ill bet your obligation will get reduced and all parties will remain talking to each other. My thoughts give it a try and maybe sleeping at night will return to you.

Consider Government Funded Housing

Most communities offer more Reasonable Housing

The Federal Government is the largest provider of help in this area. In the early nineteen thirties the president signed a bill creating the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Which function was to create good housing for those you could not otherwise afford it. This agency is commonly referred to as HUD today. If a community chooses to create this kind of low income housing it must sign an agreement with the Federal Government and form a Housing Commission or Housing Authority. The leading authority of the community, which is the mayor or manager, appoints the members of this group.

Large Apartment Buildings Were First

At first HUD created large buildings with numerous apartments. A tenant’s rent was determined by their income after allowed deductions. Before buildings were created waiting lists were developed and it was first come first served, if they were under a certain income level. Today the large apartment concept is slowly being converted to what they commonly refer to as the Voucher Program; Which I believe will be the total trend of the future. The Government is finding it more cost effective and friendlier to the population as a whole to create the voucher program, rather then own costly buildings. Now families and individuals are spread out in the community living in smaller units; some units are owned by the by HUD and others are privately owned. These rental units blend in better and create a better environment for everyone concerned.

Voucher Program

Here’s basically how the voucher concept works, you pay a certain percentage of your income for rent and the Government will pay the rest of your rent. For example the rent for the apartment your wanting to move in might be $500.00 maybe you would be required to pay three hundred and the government would pay two hundred. You may also qualify for help paying your utility bills.

For Information Contact Your Mayor or Manager

If this seems like something that might be of interest to you contact your local community manager or mayor and they will direct you to a location to call. If they are accepting applications you will be required to fill one out one and produce evidence of your current status and they will determine if you qualify for the housing program. You will discover that they all have waiting lists and the process generally moves at a snails pace. But don’t give up because the rewards of tomorrow are achieved by what you do today.

My First Hand Knowledge

I spend a number of years being involved in HUD Housing. I directed a High-rise facility for senior citizens sixty-two years of age and older and disabled persons of legal age. I mention this only to give my suggestions more weight in your thinking.

First and foremost don’t be discouraged by what they tell you. When you first talk to someone they will make you feel like going to the moon is easier then getting a place to live. Get yourself qualified by filling out an application and get placed on maybe more then one waiting list.

Now here’s some considerations that might help you move up the waiting list faster.

1. Offer to take anything available just to get your foot in the front door.

2. Once in you can get your name placed on the inside waiting list. These are tenants that wish to move to different rental units for some reason or another. The inside waiting list people have priority over the new bees waiting on the outside list. There will probably be some restrictions, for example you might have to stay in the first location for a certain period of time before getting on the inside list. Also they’re maybe a fee for moving and etc.

3. If you know someone in HUD Housing you might qualify to move in with them and get placed on their lease and then this would qualify you for the inside waiting list.

4. Ask for a copy of the waiting list and call by weekly and check your status on the list. Yes they will perceive you as a nuisance but don’t worry about that. By calling your letting them know your paying attention to who gets apartments. This will help keep them from giving your apartment to someone else, when it’s rightly yours because you’re next on the list.

5. Being a resident of the community your applying for will get you preference over people applying from other communities.

Here’s my last observation to you. HUD housing is not just in big city areas; they are all over the place. Your probably driving by some of them and don’t even realize what they are.

This article is just a brief introduction into the low rent housing in America. Seek advice wherever you live from whom ever you can and you will hopefully find more rental help maybe from the state or other privately funded situations.

Be Persistent

Your best chance of success will be determined by your persistence, never giving up and constantly probing for new information about low-income housing.

Ask Around for a Better Deal

Seek People Out

You probably already know many people that can through their job or someone they know get you a better deal on buying something you need or want.

Our Appliance Connection

We have one distant family member who works for a well known appliance manufacturer and over the years we have enjoyed saving large sums of money buying products through his employee discount arrangement with the company he works for and its all on the up and up. I guess the company sees this as a good way to keep their employees happy and also puts their products out in the public where they can be seen and promoted by those who have enjoyed the big discount by just making a phone call to some who knows someone that eventually gets you your hearts desire at a huge discount.

Check Out the Person your Dealing with

I don’t know about you? But saving a few green backs is a good emotional thing to do. And here’s how it works. First through perseverance find that person that can get you the discount and then find out what the total cost is and then give this money to that person. They will get the product ordered for you and have it sent directly to you. Now it goes without saying but Ill say it anyway, make sure your dealing through hopefully a family member or a close friend that has the family member so your assured your money is safe and you going to get what your paying for.

Try a Small Purchase First

When we first enjoyed this benefit we got it through a close family member and then ordered only a low dollar item to first see if the process would work well for us; it did and weve used it numerous times over the years without any problems.

So Check Around

So check around with your friends and family and Ill bet somewhere in that group is a money saving deal for you. The last item we purchased saved us over five hundred dollars. So the next move is yours if saving money is of interest to you.

Best Prescription Deal We Could Find

Cheaper Prescriptions

My lovely wife loves finding the best deal around for everything we require in our life. Recently my doctor suggested I start taking a prescription to control my cholesterol number, which my doctor says is a warning sign I need to pay attention to. So he prescribed a certain drug for me to take. My first trial bottle was for thirty days to see if it worked for me and didn’t disturbed the function of my liver.

Didn't Check Around

We had just joined Coscos and just assumed they had the best deal in town. This thirty-day prescription cost just under one hundred dollars. Oh and I don’t have prescription drug coverage because it was cheaper for me to pay cash then opted into the government prescription program.

Shopped Around This Time

I tolerated the drug and returned to Coscos to refill the prescription the cost then escalated to over one hundred and forty dollars per month. My wife being the money controller said no way ho say. She then shopped around and called a Canadian company and they quoted her a price of forty some dollars. They processed the ninety-day prescription for a little more then what Cosco charged us for one month. We ordered it from a Canadian company but the prescription was filled and shipped from a company in our country, which is the United States of American.

Dial For a Better Deal

So if your like me and paying for your drugs you might want to consider visiting the internet and check out whats available for you. You might luck out like me and find a better deal like I did. After all its better to have your money in your pocket then in some other pocket. So grab your phone and dial yourself a cheaper prescription.
